Terms of Service

1. The service

FlatBooks is a bookkeeping tool for service businesses, operated by Blueridge Web Services LLC ("we," "us"). It helps you send invoices, import and categorize bank transactions, set money aside for taxes, and read plain-English reports. FlatBooks does not provide tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice; its numbers and tax set-aside figures are estimates to help you stay organized, not a substitute for a qualified professional or for filing your taxes.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for your login credentials and for activity under your account. One account is for one business; keep your sign-in details private.

3. Subscription, free trial & billing

  • FlatBooks is $19/month or $190/year. The price you join at is locked for as long as your subscription stays active.
  • New accounts get a 14-day free trial. A card is collected at signup but is not charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.
  • After the trial, your plan renews automatically each period until you cancel. You can change plans, update your card, or cancel any time from Settings → Billing, which opens our payment processor (Stripe).
  • If a payment fails, we'll attempt to collect for a short grace period and notify you. If it stays unpaid, your account becomes read-only (you keep access to view and export your data) until billing is brought current.
  • Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.

4. Payments from your customers

When you connect your own PayPal credentials, FlatBooks generates pay links on your invoices so your customers can pay you directly. Those payments are between you, your customer, and PayPal. FlatBooks is not a payment processor and is not a party to, and is not responsible for, those transactions.

5. Your data

Your business data is yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process it solely to provide FlatBooks to you. You can export your data at any time and request deletion. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use FlatBooks for anything unlawful, don't try to break, overload, or reverse-engineer it, and don't upload data you have no right to. We may suspend accounts that put the service or other users at risk.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

FlatBooks is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and it is not a substitute for a licensed accountant's judgment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes & termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date. You can cancel any time. We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms or for non-payment.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, with exclusive venue in Lee County, Florida.
